Lava New Media, LLC is a multimedia communications firm specializing in today’s most advanced creative and programming technologies, including graphic design, sophisticated database-driven web and CD-ROM development, 3-D applications and custom content management systems. Because projects are customized for each client, local and national organizations of all sizes and varying needs have trusted us with developing creative, Web sites, interactive applications and print materials. Ed has over 12 years of print and interactive design experience in an agency environment, managing design and development staff in their creative and technical production. Ed's ability to bridge communications with programmers, designers and clients makes him a respected leader and invaluable client resource. Ed received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania with a specialty in Applied Media Arts. His corporate clients have included Duquesne Light Enterprises, Alcoa, Make-A-Wish Foundation, University of Notre Dame and PNC Bank. His design awards include American Corporate Identity and a Gold Medal in Creativity 29. Ed also serves on the board of directors for Beginning with Books Center for Early Literacy, a nonprofit that promotes the literacy development of underprivileged children in Pittsburgh.

Dave Horn  Owner | Multimedia Director

View Dave’s Bio

Dave has over 10 years of experience in bringing Web and software applications to life with today’s most advanced multimedia technologies. Dave has an extensive programming and project management background specializing in educational applications, games, multimedia presentations, interactive animations, video editing/producing and 2-D/3-D simulations. Dave has produced projects for clients such as PNC Bank, Exhibitgroup Giltspur, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Oncology Nursing Society and the SAE Foundation. With a Bachelors Degree in Music Technology and a Masters Degree in Multimedia Technology, both from Duquesne University, Dave has also served as an adjunct professor of Web and multimedia technologies in university graduate programs and adult education classes.

Tom Young  Owner | Technology Director

Tom has mastered numerous Web and related technologies, ranging from client-side technologies (such as XHTML, CSS, Flash/ActionScript and JavaScript) to server-side and database technologies (such as ASP, PHP, ColdFusion, SQL, and database administration). Certified in ColdFusion MX application development, he is in demand for development of very sophisticated database-driven Web sites and applications. His work has included The Pittsburgh Public Theater, The Mattress Factory, National Notification Network, Mascaro Construction, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Ward Cedar Log Homes, and PNC Bank. Tom received his Bachelor of Sciences in Information Technology from The University of Phoenix.
